Dallas Personal Injury Lawyers

We’re Passionate About Client Advocacy

While we expect other people to act in a safe, responsible manner, unfortunately that is often not the case. Some of the most frequent causes of injury and death in the United States are automobile accidents, medical malpractice, and defective products, to name a few.

If you or a loved one has been hurt through the negligent actions or wrongdoing of another person, you deserve to receive financial compensation for your expenses and emotional suffering.

What Makes Aldous \ Walker Different Than the Rest?

At Aldous \ Walker, our clients come first. We truly believe in each and every one of our clients. If we don’t believe in a case, we don’t take it. It’s as simple as that! Our Dallas personal injury attorneys look at each case carefully. We investigate it and go through the discovery process with care. All of our resources are devoted to our clients, and our resources are uniquely suited to their needs. For instance, we have a nurse on staff who consults on medical cases.

Recovering Compensation in a Personal Injury Lawsuit

The Dallas personal injury attorneys at Aldous \ Walker are here to help you recover compensation for damages associated with your injury. These damages can include both economic (monetary expenses) and non-economic (pain and suffering).

Economic Damages

In a personal injury lawsuit, the primary form of compensation comes from economic damages. These are monetary expenses associated with the accident or injury, including:

  • Hospital and doctor bills
  • Medical treatments and medications
  • Lost income from missing work
  • Loss of future income if unable to return to work
  • Cost of in-home care or equipment for a permanent disability
  • Vocational rehabilitation

    Non-Economic Damages

Non-economic damages are designed to compensate an injury victim for non-tangible costs, particularly the physical or emotional pain the victim suffered.

    • Physical pain and suffering caused by the injury
    • Emotional/mental toll put on the injury victim
    • Loss of quality and enjoyment of life

    Additional Damages

In certain cases, you may be able to request punitive damages. Punitive damages are designed to punish the negligent party for actions that were reckless or wrong (like drunk driving), as a means to prevent similar behavior in the future.

Another form of damages that can be recovered are wrongful death damages. These damages are available to the deceased's family and include funeral and burial expenses, as well as the loss of income if the deceased was the main bread-earner.

Our Entire Team Works On Each and Every Case

Some firms accept large amounts of cases. We don’t. We keep our docket small. Why? So that you, as our client, receive the attention you deserve. That’s important to us! Why hire an attorney if you’re just going to be dealing with a paralegal or legal assistant, with no contact with the actual lawyer? Attorney Charla Aldous is personally involved in every case. That’s a big deal.

We look at each case carefully. We investigate it and go through the discovery process with care. All of our resources are devoted to our clients, and our resources are uniquely suited to their needs. For instance, we have a nurse on staff who consults on medical cases.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • Q:How long do I have to file a personal injury lawsuit in Texas?

A:If you wish to file a personal injury lawsuit against a negligent party that injured you, you must submit it within the statute of limitations for the case to be upheld. The State of Texas gives personal injury plaintiffs two years to submit their claims. If you miss the deadline your case can be thrown out of court, so it is critical to the success of your case to contact an attorney as soon as possible.

    • Q:How much is my injury claim worth?

A:When you file a personal injury lawsuit you are requesting that the negligent party compensate you for losses you have suffered. Therefore, the value of your claim is directly proportional to the amount of damages you sustained as a result of your injury; the more severe the injury, the more compensation you will most likely be entitled to. However, no amount of compensation can be guaranteed, so you should consult an experienced attorney before accepting any offers or settlements.

    • Q:How much does a personal injury lawyer cost?

A:Aldous \ Walker, and other personal injury attorneys, work for a contingency fee. A contingency fee means that a lawyer gets paid a percentage of the settlement or verdict awarded to their client. If the attorney does not recover any compensation for you, then you owe them no fees. Most attorneys charge a 33% contingency fee, but it can differentiate between lawyers.

    • Q:Will my case go to trial?

A:Less than 5% of all personal injury cases ever go to trial. A drawn-out court case isn’t beneficial for either side and so we can usually obtain a favorable settlement for you outside of court. However, Aldous \ Walker is led by experienced trial attorneys who have won numerous cases in court. If a trial becomes necessary, you can be confident in our ability to win over a jury.
