Charla Aldous featured in The Dallas Morning News Discussing Texas’ Medical Malpractice Caps

Firm founder and partner Charla Aldous spoke to The Dallas Morning News for a story concerning Texas medical malpractice caps.

The story was prompted by notice of a potential lawsuit from the family of former U.S. Rep. Bernice Eddie Johnson against a Baylor Scott & White rehabilitation facility. She died following back surgery and what her family says was a hospital-acquired infection.

In her comments, Ms. Aldous discusses how damages in such cases are capped by Texas’ 2003 tort reform law, making it difficult for attorneys to take such cases.

“If a congresswoman of her stature is treated that way,” Ms. Aldous said, “well, what in the world happens to the poor people who are not well known?”
