Rabbi Peretz Avram Shapiro, a Dallas rabbi, nearly lost his arm in a serious accident at a North Texas slaughterhouse. He was contracted by Alle Processing in Maspeth, New York as a ritual slaughterer or mashgiach. He worked at Beltex, a processing plant located in Fort Worth. He was not, however, given proper training. After being told to stand too close to a dangerous piece of machinery, his arm was caught and almost amputated.
The Dallas trial lawyers at the Aldous \ Walker represented Rabbi Shapiro in his case. The court ruled that he was entitled to compensation.
